Tir Conaill Academy was very busy during the month of March!  We started out with our big show production in Albuquerque on March 8th.  Tir Conaill - The Show 2015 was a great success, with a sold out performance!  From beginners to champion dancers to adults, all members of the school strutted their stuff!  Highlights included The Wedding Day Jig, The Chicago Hornpipe, Uptown Funk, the perennial Boys Reel, and the Wild West Show.  Fun was had by all!

Next we moved right into St. Patrick's Day Festivities.  With over 20 performances between the two locations, the dancers kept hoppin'!  We marched in both parades in Albuquerque and Tucson, and delivered fabulous performances at the festivals.  The Tucson class was also invited to a big school party in the private room at O'Malley's on Fourth, hosted by class parent/owners Scott and Brian Cummings. The dancers expressed their thanks with a joyful, relaxed performance under the tent, in their tee shirts and shorts.  We even had 3 year old Kellen give us a step!!  Tir Conaill made the front page of the newspaper two days in a row - hurray for us!!

Then the World Irish Dance Championships took place in Montreal the week of March 29th.  We had 8 World Qualifiers for the 2015 World Championships, and 6 chose to travel to Montreal to compete.  We had a great showing, and all of our dancers made us proud with their performances.  We had 2 dancers getting into the final rounds in their respective age groups - the only recalls for the states of Arizona and New Mexico!  Congratulations to our world recallers Eric Crone, 17th in the world in the boys under 13 category, and Sandra Sullivan 45th in the world in the senior ladies competition.
