Next we moved right into St. Patrick's Day Festivities. With over 20 performances between the two locations, the dancers kept hoppin'! We marched in both parades in Albuquerque and Tucson, and delivered fabulous performances at the festivals. The Tucson class was also invited to a big school party in the private room at O'Malley's on Fourth, hosted by class parent/owners Scott and Brian Cummings. The dancers expressed their thanks with a joyful, relaxed performance under the tent, in their tee shirts and shorts. We even had 3 year old Kellen give us a step!! Tir Conaill made the front page of the newspaper two days in a row - hurray for us!!

Then the World Irish Dance Championships took place in Montreal the week of March 29th. We had 8 World Qualifiers for the 2015 World Championships, and 6 chose to travel to Montreal to compete. We had a great showing, and all of our dancers made us proud with their performances. We had 2 dancers getting into the final rounds in their respective age groups - the only recalls for the states of Arizona and New Mexico! Congratulations to our world recallers Eric Crone, 17th in the world in the boys under 13 category, and Sandra Sullivan 45th in the world in the senior ladies competition.
At far left is Katelyn Dunn, our "adopted" Irish dancer who is attending college at the University of Arizona, who placed 40th in the senior ladies competition.
Next to her is Sandra Sullivan, our senior lady from Albuquerque who placed 45th in the senior ladies competition.

Tir Conaill Academy had a great showing at the October Halloween Feis in Phoenix, Arizona. We had many winners in all levels of competition, including a clean sweep of first, second, third place in the senior championship!
We also debuted our ceili teams who will be representing us at the Oireachtas western regional championships in a few weeks.
Thank you to the tireless parents/grandparents/friends of our dancers, who brought them to the feis and turned them out so beautifully dressed and ready for their performances. We couldn't do it without you!
A great time was had by all.
The June performance of Tir Conaill The Show proved to be more exciting than ever. Some performance standouts include "Harry's Wild West Treble Reel," "The Charleston," and the "Flight of the Earls," just to name a few.
The dancers performed to a overflowing audience of friends, parents, families, and Irish culture aficionados.
All monies earned from the concert are dedicated to covering the costs of studio upkeep, costume purchases, and helping to defray the cost of the workshop tuition.
All in all, it was a grand Irish night! Can't wait for the Albuquerque show this February!
